My Written Analysis of The Springfield Three
I couldn’t sleep the other night and my mind
ventured to the 3mw, and the more I tossed and turned the more I realized how
obsessed I've become with this case.
Eventually, I started thinking of the "facts" known about this case and how little the
public knows.
So now I want everyone else to brainstorm where my mind went the other night.
If we didn't have the Van sighting by the Porch Lady I
doubt Law enforcement would have purchased a van and perused this theory. The
Porch lady claimed that Suzie was driving a green van, and despite the engine
of the van being on and the old woman herself sitting on the porch, she heard a
man in the back of the van say “Don’t do anything stupid.” Of course, we also
have the Yard Sale Lady's claim of being run off the road
by a green van. I saw the supposed YSL on a FB post of the missing three and
she claims she saw Larry Hall driving the van. I'm not sure about this one.
While she seems certain I'm not because of the number of people trying to
attach themselves to this case and LE's investigation of Hall and this crime
about a decade ago.
Next, we have the sighting at Georges. I don't
think the waitress lied, I just think she got her night's confused and maybe
Sherrill and Suzie were there with another woman at some point. I think this is
also an accidental Red Herring.
Then we have the APOC sighting. I was sure of this sighting untilMissouri Mule was kind enough to post an actual article from a newspaper at the time that stated the woman the attendant saw identified herself to authorities. I don't think the attendant intentionally spread misinformation but simply was confused.
Another Red Herring was the "Drugs" angle. Many times when someone is murdered or goes missing, especially back in 92, people can be so judgmental and quick to jump to the "Oh, they were on drugs." As if that makes them a bad person. Anyone who looks back at the old papers and tv episodes can see the way the media painted this case. Stacey was the "wrong place wrong time victim" and Sherril and Suzie were "hiding something related to drugs." This disgusts me, and I couldn't imagine having a family member go missing and then having their names dragged like that. I do not think drugs were involved with the Missing Women.
Stemming from my above Red Herring we also have
Detective Asher's favorite Red Herring that
Bartt was involved in this crime. I made a post on Websleuths about this but
this Red Herring hurts me. Barrt lost so much that night and I can't imagine
how people who never met him judged and treated him and also judged his family
for false accusations. I do not think Bartt was involved at all. Also speaking
of Asher, his character and inept ability as a detective are shown in the
latest tv segment.
I do not believe the vandals of the graveyard were involved at all.
Psychic's were also used in this case. I find this to be the most idiotic way to go about solving a crime. In the original 48 Hours episode, one officer is looking for “winged tipped shoes” based on a Psychic's prediction. I find this baffling that LE would go off of something so ridiculous. There’s also the Cox Hospital Parking Garage Theory. This theory came from an online Psychic and I believe it to have wasted a lot of time on this case while also being a huge Red Herring. I know experts found “anomalies” similar to what’s found in graveyards but even the person performing the search stated it could be numerous things.
Finally, we have the motley cast of creeps linked
to the area at the time.
1. Robert Craig Cox. (Killed Sharron Zellers who
bit off part of his tongue in 1978.) He was in the area at the time, had his
girlfriend (then mother) lie about his alibi, and happened to (supposedly) work
near Sherrill's home and also worked with Stacy's father. He also stated that
he "knew the women were dead and that their bodies would never be
found." I don't think it was Cox based on his facial expression
when saying this. He could have gotten better, but he couldn't even hide one
body so I seriously doubt he could hide three. I believe he only wants
attention.
2. Steven Eugene Garrison (Kidnapper and Rapist)
claims a friend "confessed" to the crime during a drunken evening.
There is also a GAG order by the Grand Jury preventing what he said to be made
public. LE also searched the area he claimed they were buried but didn't find
anything. I'm not sure what to think about him. The Gag order piques my
interest but not knowing where they were buried doesn't sit right with me.
3. Larry Dewayne Hall & Gary Hall (Twin brothers that
traveled around the states performing Civil War Reenactments) Larry is a Serial
Killer who targeted young women and drove a van similar to the one purchased by
SP LE. This is also the man the YSL claims to have run her off the road while
driving near Delmar. If I were to believe the sighting of the van, and I'm not
sure I do, then he would be my number one "Serial Killer" suspect. If
you search the list of victims at the hands of Larry you can see both Stacy and
Suzie were his "type", and that he was known to be meticulous about
his crime scenes. He was also stated to find his victims and then stalk them,
acting quickly when an opportunity arose. They were also supposedly in
Springfield that weekend for a CWR. Larry also said "three of his victims were from Springfield '' before later
recanting.
4. Gerald Carnahan (Convicted Serial Killer of Teenage Girls
Raped and Murder Jackie Johns in 1985.) It took many years for this man to get
caught, and unlike the killers above, (aside from Garrison because I couldn't
find anything stating he'd murdered anyone.) this man seemed pretty sly about
his crimes. He was somewhat of a successful businessman and was able to keep
his wife in the dark about the murders and assaults. I'm not sure of his
involvement but would consider him if there was a link to the 3mw.
I personally wouldn't want to be around any of these men and I'm glad they're
behind bars. The first time I read about this case back in 2014 when I was 20,
I thought to myself that it had to be one of these men. I mean, how can all
these Serial Killers be in the area without committing the crime? But the
further I wander down this 28-year-old Rabbit Hole, the more I think I know, I
do not.
One thing is clear based on the way LE consulted Psychics, ruled
people out quickly, performed unprofessional interviews, and ignored certain
angles to make their theories work, its obvious their investigation was Shoddy,
at best.
I believe there is a Reason that stems beyond a single individual that this case
remains a secret all these years. I believe the staged house to
be the biggest clue. Someone wanted (and got exactly that) to
make whoever came across the house think that the three women just disappeared.
Poof. Gone. And 28 years later that's all we know for certain. Hall is the only Killer I think would stage the
house, but his irrational behavior and the way he "blacks out" makes
me think otherwise. I believe multiple people, at least
four, know what happened that night and have a great amount to lose which is
why no one is saying anything. I wouldn't even rule out an
"accident" with Stacy and Suzie at one of the parties and that
Sherrill happened to hear people parking their cars and was taken.
One also has to remember the, at least to me,
sketchy actions of JK and MH. Almost all that we know stems from JK’s timeline
of when the girls left her house and when she and MH went to Delmar the next
morning. JK’s Mother also provided an alibi to the police stating she heard the
girls leave from her upstairs bedroom. Not only did JK and MH let themselves
into the house, MH swept up the broken porch light and threw it in a bin across
the street. I don’t necessarily find this sketchy, but it doesn’t sit right
with me that he wouldn’t use Sherril’s trash can. JK also claims to have
received two calls while she was in the house from a “mysterious man” saying
lewd things. I find this convenient that she received the calls while she was
there and also consider this a Red Herring. There’s also something that doesn’t
sit well with me when JK is being interviewed and refers to Suzie as “That
other girl”. Her friends just went missing and she calls her that? She has also
changed her timeline at least twice, once stating she started calling at 7:30
am and then changing it to 9:30 am. I also would not be suspicious at all had
JK called Janice Mcall to ask if the women were there. All the purses, keys,
cigarettes and cars were at Delmar. The dog was also visibly upset. How an
intelligent 18-year-old couldn’t sense something was wrong is baffling to me.
Janice called JK’s house that morning and was informed by her sister that the
girls went back to Suzie’s house. She then went to a boat race with her family.
She was not informed until around 7 pm that something was wrong, and this was
after other people were informed the women were nowhere to be found. The fact
that Janice listened to the answering machine seems odd to some, but her
daughter was nowhere to be found and her clothes were in Suzie’s bedroom.
Almost anyone would have cracked and listened. The fact that the message
deleted after being played is just a sad accident. There's also the fact that
18 people were let into 1717 E. Delmar on June 7th. Some of which was trying to
make coffee. Even Janice states she finds this odd and didn’t think they should
be messing with Sherril’s things. I don't think all 18 visitors had ill
intentions, but a few of them straightening things up seem odd to me. I don't
know if any of the above men harmed animals, but it seems to suspect they would
let the dog survive. After reading and rereading, I can't help but feel like
this crime was personal and that at least two of the visitors to the house were
only there to monitor what was happening. JK was also noticed by an officer to
be visibly wet around 8 pm that night, and she stated they went to a water
slide despite her friends missing.
With both Sherril and Suzie being taken one automatically thinks they were the
prime targets, but I'm not so sure. Could this be an assault gone wrong by one
man? Maybe. I can't help but feel this is deeper and involves at least four
people. Obviously, the girls weren’t supposed to be at Delmar that night, and
they could have very well been followed departing one of the parties. I’m not
discounting this, but the fact that this crime happened on Graduation Night
seems a little too convenient for me. I think this could be a big clue in the
case. I also think Springfield LE knows they messed up on this case from the
very beginning and exhausted resources on false claims and Red Herrings. When
people go missing some individuals like to try and attach themselves to cases.
Some mentally ill, and others just thought they saw something because it was
acknowledged to them. IE seeing a particular car once then suddenly seeing it
everywhere. I want to state that I believe the Porch Lady sighting to be a
complete lie. I believe a new set of investigators should examine this case. I
also believe more information should have been pursued about the women's
activities days before they disappeared. I also wish the people attending the
various parties would be reexamined to see if LE originally missed anything. I
think multiple previous and current Springfield residents could know what
happened.
If the person(s) responsible do happen to be
reading this, you've had 28 years, and destroyed numerous lives. You've learned
to live with yourself while others have been forced to live without those they
love. Do the right thing and turn yourself in. If you're too much of a coward for
that at least reveal where the bodies are. I don't think this is possible
because I believe that revealing the bodies would lead to an arrest.
Anyway, if you read this all the way through,
thank you. I'm 26 years old and hope that I live long enough to see this case
solved. Again, all of this is just my opinion from what I've read throughout
the years. And to the missing three, I'm sure you'll remain on many minds until
this case is solved. With love. - Seeker994
